The acquisition is subject to the manufacture, identification and mail of the Health Insurance Card (Kela card) to the recipients of the cards. The Kela card is a physical card that Kela gives to the person insured under the Health Insurance Act. 461,000 Kela cards were ordered in 2024.

With a European Nursing CardFor medical reasons, the holder is entitled to be temporarily treated in another EU or EEA country, Switzerland, the UK or Northern Ireland. Kela grants pensioners and their family members a different card compared to the EHIC card(Ehic-B). A total of 1.3 million EHIC cards were ordered in 2024. A total of 1,500 EHIC-B cards were ordered in 2024.
