Description:
The goal of the Border Guard (procurement unit) is to acquire unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) that best suit the Border Guard's changing operating environment. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 1000-2000g and must be suitable for use at all times of the year, at all times of the day and in all weather conditions.
Such tasks include, for example, sea rescue tasks, crime prevention, special unit operations and supporting other authorities, such as searching for a missing person in the land area. Unmanned aerial vehicles are also used in research, development, training and communication activities.
The border guard's unmanned aviation is the state's unmanned aviation in compliance with the Aviation Act (864/2014) and Traficom OPS M1-35 State Unmanned Aviation Regulations. In addition, the regulations and instructions of the Border Guard are followed in unmanned aircraft operations.
The goal of the procurement is also to ensure a sufficient number of systems for unmanned aircraft when the operational need changes and to ensure that operations are not compromised due to system failures or breakdowns.
