- This advance notice concerns the construction of the public areas of Jokikyla and the relocation of the Vantaanjoki river bed.
The city of Riihimaki is building the street and public areas of the new planning area in the Jokikyla district. The area is located approximately 400 meters south of Riihimaki railway station, Jokikyla districtassa, in the area between Etelainen Asemakatu and the railway, north of Siltakatu. The area is mostly undeveloped and the trees have been cleared except for the trees protected by the plan. In the current situation, the Vantaanjoki runs along the northern and western edge of the area as a ditch-like bed.
Tot will be in the middle of the pattern areato facilitate the new Vantaanjoki river bed, along which there will be various park-like areas, a playground and piers, as well as scenic stairs. In connection with the transfer of the river bed, the purpose is to make the bed more natural, improve the living conditions of fish and aquatic organisms, and improve water flood control. Public parkue and Vantaanjoki play a central role in the area and bring versatile recreational opportunities on the scale of Riihimaki. The park area will be surrounded by lighted walkways, along which seating areas will be placed. Some of the tracks are implemented with requirements of a special level of accessibilitya and the sections in question will be asphalted. The rest of the rails will be built with stone ash coatings. One light traffic bridge over the river bed will also be placed on the track. A lot of dynamic vegetation and trees are planted in the park, which are mainly located near the riverbed.
