Direct procurement is carried out for the duration of the procurement process until the new tendered contract enters into force. It is necessary to continue the contract, as the services of the clinical chemistry laboratory must be available without interruption to safeguard the care of clients.Continuation of the contract ensures smooth daily operations of clinical chemistry units. Direct procurement is essential to ensure uninterrupted activities and to ensure patient safety.
