On March 1, 1975, a separate energy department was established in the Ministry of Trade and Industry to secure the centralized processing of energy supply-related issues and to enhance energy supply-related activities.
The foundation of the department was influenced by the global energy crisis experienced in the early 1970sisi, which made it especially difficult to obtain oil in Western countries, raised prices and led to tough energy-saving measures in Finland as well. Now, almost 50 years later, the energy crisis is relevant again due to the Russian invasion, but this time it is primarily a European gas crisis.
Enthe ergy department would like to commission a celebratory work to be published in February 2025, which will review the department and Finland's sky from the 70s to the present day. The purpose is to describe and analyze the energy policy of the last 50 years from the perspective and methods of historical research. The processing method is limitedaway from politics and political science research.
Descriptions and analyzes should be done from the state's perspective. The purpose is to examine what the state has done to influence the development of the energy market and energy demand and supply, and how it has been linked to the development of society. EvolveThis will be examined from the perspectives of contemporaries and from outside Finland, depending on the documents and possibilities. Bids higher than this will be excluded from the tender.
