Description:
A new wastewater treatment plant is planned to be built on Hyvaeristoenmaeki in Lappeenranta, which will replace the existing Toikansuo treatment plant after completion. The project includes the construction of a transfer sewer about four kilometers long, the necessary road connection and a pumping station to be placed in the Toikansuo area.forecasting.
The Hyvaeristoenmaeki wastewater treatment plant has received a legally binding environmental permit in December 2022. The phased county plan, which enables a wastewater treatment plant to be located in Hyvaeristoenmaeki, has received legal force in May 2023. These positive decisions for the project are the basis of the projectfor promotion, and they also enable active progress in the city's zoning and land acquisition.
The latest total cost estimate for the treatment plant and transfer sewer, approximately 70 M€, of which the treatment plant's sharea is €58 million, is from a few years ago. During the last couple of years, the cost development has been on the rise, and the price range of the project at this stage can be considered to be 70 100 M€.
