Project brief
The City of Helsinki is planning a new theme park where even young children can immerse themselves in the world of computers - without a machine, playing and doing things. The planned area is located in the western centre of Helsinki, about 2 km from the main railway station. The site is located between Ruoholahti and Jätkäsaari districts. Ruoholahti Playground is part of Ruoholahti Park, which extends along the Ruoholahti Canal and to its south and north. The playground is located on the south bank of the canal and is about 7,500 m² in size. Ruoholahti Playground dates back to the 1990s and is in need of renovation.
The planning of the park has already begun. The designers are Linda Liukas from Hello Ruby Oy and landscape architect Tiina Perälä from Näkymä Oy.
