- MARKET DIALOGUE The subject of the market dialogue is the procurement of railway switchgear and rail profiling services for the railway network managed by the Norwegian Railways Agency. The Finnish Railways Agency is responsible for the maintenance, safety and development. Profiling gears and rails is a key part of track maintenance, which is used to manage rail defects, reduce noise and vibration, extend the life cycle of rails and ensure the safety and smoothness of traffic. BACKGROUND AND GOALS The object of the procurement is the set of gear and rail profiling services, which covers the preventive and corrective profiling work carried out on the rail network during the contract period. The previous competition was carried out in 2023 and beyond based on this, services have been acquired in 2024-2025. The goal of the procurement to be launched now is to ensure the continuity of the service at the end of the contract period and to develop the procurement model and service content to meet changing maintenance needs and market situation. Profiling services are aimed at rail sections located in different parts of Finland. The works are carried out on the rail network in operation, and they require close coordination with traffic control, maintenance and other rail works.
