Description:
The city of Helsinki intends to acquire a school and daycare center at Siltakyläntie 9 as a rental project. The anticipated value of the acquisition is approximately 60 million. € The project aims to demolish the old Siltamäki elementary school building and build a new one in its place to fundamentally improve and expand the school's current facilities. The school operating on the property is to be expanded into a unified elementary school (grades 1-9). Facilities for pre-kindergarten education will also be programmed. The city has initially planned that for the project a real estate investor or other operator who would design and build a new building on the site or fundamentally improve and expand the old building would be put out to tender, and then lease it for the city's use for an initial period of 25 years for the rental period. Project schedules The city will organize a market information about the project on Monday 26 January 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The procurement notice for the project is to be published in February 2026 so that the procurement could be completed by the end of 2026. The project a project contract would then be drawn up for planning and construction preparation, during which demolition or basic improvement could start from early autumn 2027 or at the latest from the beginning of 2028. It is planned to start basic education at the site at the latest at the beginning of 2030. The use of the current building will end in the summer of 2027, after which possible demolition work can begin.
