Description:
This announcement is related to the procurement procedure that may be initiated later by the Finnish Railways Agency and the City of Vaasa regarding the construction of the "Vt 8 and St 724 Vaasa connecting road" contract.
The Finnish Railways Agency and the City of Vaasa will possibly start with a procurement notice published in mid-December 2025 tender, in which it is looking for candidates and groups of candidates to implement the Vt 8 and St 724 Vaasa connecting road.
The project will be carried out using an alliance model, with a choice the contractual partner implements the construction of the project in cooperation with the Client. The planning party is procured separately by the implementing party selected for the project at the beginning of the project's development phase.
In the project, the Vaasan Yhdystie will be improved to a 2+2-lane median road and the current roads will be improved level connections are changed to different level connections. In addition, the existing multi-level connections will be improved. The project also improves pedestrian and cycling connections by building underpasses. In addition, noise nuisances are reduced with noise fences and railings, which improves the comfort of living in the project area in the vicinity of. The project will improve public transport connections with new stop arrangements and streamlining of traffic.
The road plan Vt 8 improvement between Vt 3 - Sepankylantie is to be updated.
