Description:
The Tenderer is requested to submit a tender for a fully operational optical profilometer. The instrument will be used for measurements of 3D surface topography of various surfaces independent of the material of the surface. The common tests that the instrument shall function for include scanning thetopography of the surface under study at different length scales (by using different objectives) and carrying roughness analysis for the obtained topographic images. The operating environment (air and/or liquid medium) should be defined. The most common materials to be studied include metals,semiconductors, plastics, natural fibres, cells and hydrogel materials. The optical profilometer is expected to carry out reliable and accurate measurements to determine the local surface features of materials in question. The options for automation of the topographical measurements should be describedin the tender and is considered as an advantage in allowing high-throughput measurements and comprehensive investigations of materials surfaces. In addition to accuracy the ease-of-use of the instrument operation (e.g., loading of samples, instrument calibration and instructive perspectives in softwares)is also important. Due to the large number of different applications being investigated by the university research groups, the upgradeability and application specific measurement accessories will also be evaluated.
