Description:
Peraemeren Jaetehuolto Oy is a regional waste management company owned by five municipalities (Kemi, Tornio, Keminmaa, Tervola and Ylitornio), with approx. 60,000 people living in its area of operation. The company's main office is the waste center Jaekaelae, which is located in Tornio, approx. 15 km northeast of the city center, at Kalkkimaantie 614. In addition to the municipalities in the area, processed waste is brought to Jaekaelae from the municipalities of Haaparanna and Kolar and from the area of Lapland's municipal waste management company (Lapeco).with preliminary sorting, different beneficial fractions are separated, which are delivered to material recycling and energy utilization. The area also processes a significant amount of sewage treatment sludge by composting and maintains a waste disposal area.
Peraemeren Jaetehuolto Oy operates in the areapremises and personnel. In addition to the staff, there is a contractor working in the area who takes care of the area's machine work. The work includes e.g. management of the disposal area, composting treatment, performed by mechanical sortingnen, production of functions in the small sorting area and maintenance of other fields and roads in the area.
