- Porvoon Energia is planning to construct a new industrial scale heat pump plant, and invites your organisation to submit your proposal to deliver such heat pump plant to the Tolkkinen power plant site as specified in this preliminary description. Porvoon Energia Oy is a regional utility company and owns and operates the district heating network and related heat and power production units in Porvoo. The main heat production plant of this district heating network is the CHP plant in Tolkkinen. At the power plant there are two combined heat and power production units, both of which are solid biomass (wood) fired. Currently Porvoon Energia has ongoing project to build the first heat pump plant, LP1, to produce district heat in connection with the existing power plant unit K3 in the Tolkkinen site. The second heat pump plant, LP2, will be located next to the LP1. The purpose of this heat pump plant is to recover waste heat from the nearby hydrogen manufacturing unit (electrolyser unit) owned by Neste Oy. The waste heat is utilized to produce district heat for the city of Porvoo. The heat pump plant, LP2, will be connected into the existing district heating network and will operate in connection with the existing power plant unit K3 and the heat pump plant, LP1.
