The object of the procurement is the Maldi-TOF MS device that will be used by the Finnish Food Agency's office in Helsinki. The Food Agency's laboratories already have two Maldi-TOF-MS devices in use, one of which will be replaced by a new device during this year. The object of the acquisition is MALDI TOF MS equipment (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization - Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry), which is intended for fast and reliable species identification of microbes using mass spectrometry technology. The hardware is used for the identification of bacteria, mycobacteria and yeasts, fungi and molds with the help of extensive and up-to-date reference libraries.
