Description:
The Turku City Council has approved on 24 October 2022 the project plan for the partial renovation of the City Hall, which is based on the needs assessment approved by the Turku City Council on 16 September 2019 § 365.
The building site is located in the core of Turku in the 1st block of the 7th district, also known asAs a Fortuna block, following the pattern of the 19th century. The area is bordered by Linnankatu on the northwest edge, Aurakatu on the northeast, and Laentinen Rantakatu and Aurajoki on the southeast. The other plots of the block are located on the southwest side of the area, where all of them are mainly old commercial and residential buildings and yard buildingsnope. The project scope includes the following objects:
- Town hall (building ID 1032958849) and the wing building closest to it (103295885A) are located on plot 1, address Aurakatu 2,
- northernmost wing building (103295886B) on plot 2, address Aurakatu 4,
- Consular building (103295891H) tontilla 4 at Linnankatu 14 and its courtyard building (103295892J),
- Kaempe's house,
- Courtyard building located at Laentinen rantakatu 13 A (103295889E)
The scope of the renovation also includes strengthening the foundations and piling according to the scope shown in the project plan for the buildings in the area.
