• YOU CAN STILL HAVE AN INFLUENCE DURING THE MARKET SURVEYING PHASE! We want the city of Turku to cooperate with companies. That's why we do market mapping to organize services. The goal is to map the market and get comprehensive information about the service availability, implementation possibilities and potential suppliers. This is an invitation to a market survey, which concerns the city of Turku's veterinary services for utility and large animals. The object of the service is Article 8 a) of the Veterinary Care Act (285/2023) according to farm animal services for animals kept for food or fur production and b) emergency veterinary assistance for large domestic animals in accordance with Section 9.2 (such as the sudden and serious illness, injury or immediate assessment and treatment required by the worsening of the disease, which cannot be transferred without worsening of the disease or significant suffering of the animal, as well as euthanasia of the animal on animal welfare grounds). The service does not include care of wild animals, but measures according to Section 7 of the Animal Welfare Act (693/2023) (termination) are included. The city of Turku evaluates the possibilities of producing the service either as its own production or as a purchased service. According to § 8.1 of the Municipalities Act, the municipality can organize the things provided for in the law the tasks themselves or agree on transferring the organizing responsibility to another municipality or a group of municipalities.
