With this market survey/ prior information notice Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) surveys the market and requests information from suppliers concerning the procurement of laboratory-scale biogas reactors . The preliminary procurement target is laboratory-scale continuously stirred tank reactors (CSTRs) for research purposes. Reactors must be suitable for studying process performance, especially the methane production and digestate quality, of anaerobic digestion of various types of biomass: slurries, sludges, manures, and also drier materials (plant biomass, food waste, etc.) as a co-feedstock. Equipment is needed for semi- or fully continuous operation with regular feeding and regular or continuous removal of digestate. Reactors must be equipped with adjustable stirring and temperature control; the heating mechanism must ensure a stable temperature. The equipment must be gas-tight, including for hydrogen. Gas volumes and gas composition must be measurable. The preliminary estimate of the reactor volume is 5-15 liters. The operating parameter data (e.g. temperature) and optional measurements (gas volume, gas composition) must be stored electronically. The estimated requirement is two units, with an option for an additional two units.
