• The acquisition is part of the implementation of the new main building of the Paavola school at Hirsikankaantie 3, 62900 Alajärvi. It is a significant school building project, the purpose of which is to replace the old school building with modern and functional ones in teaching facilities. The extent of the new building is 3152.5 k-m² (actual floor area) and 3348.5 brm² (gross area). In the construction project, a main building serving teaching activities will be implemented, which will house teaching facilities for basic education, special education facilities, staff spaces and common learning environments. Construction location and current building stock: A stone school building built in 1957/1960 is located on the future construction site. The building is at the end of its life cycle and will be demolished as part of the project. An extension was later built into the building in 2009, and these extensions will also be demolished to make way for the new building. The parts of the building site to be preserved include building part E, where the teaching facilities for technical work and textile work are located. This part will be preserved and connected to the new building. In addition, the new building will be connected to building F/G, where the school's dining room and teaching facilities are located. The connection is implemented with a new gateway. Construction phasing: The construction project will be implemented in two phase so that the existing building remains in use until the main mass of the new building is put into use.
