• The Land Surveying Institute produces information, service and research about the Earth. The more than 200-year-old Maanmittauslaitos performs various land surveying services, such as subdivisions and land management, as well as produces map materials and promotes their use. The Land Surveying Institute secures land ownership and the credit system by maintaining information on real estate and condominiums in their registers and taking care of ownership rights registrations and mortgages. Key tasks also include research and application of spatial information in Finland and internationally.
  The Land Surveying Institute has offices in 26 locations around Finland, from Mariehamn to Ivalo. There are approximately 1,800 employees in total.
