Description : The contract covers the supply of a ticketing and fare collection system, and the development of APIs in cooperation with the contracting authority and other service providers wishing to integrate their services with the system. The contract covers the System as a service together with maintenance and support services.
The contract terms will be negotiated during the negotiations phase of the procurement.
The public transportation of Lappeenranta operates four different types of services; local public transport, rural commuter bus services, school transportation and on-demand taxi services. There are 17 busses operating for local transportation, 18 busses for rural area and 32 busses for school transportation. The average number of local journeys before the covid-19 was 1.8 million and 0.3 million journeys in commuter traffic.
Altogether 35 local and commuter busses (and possibly Taxis in case of demand responsive transport, DRT) will be equipped with the new ticketing and payment system.
