• Description:
• In connection with renewing the main library's return and sorting automation, design services were procured from JKMM Arkkitehdit Oy. As the implementation has progressed, there has been a need for additional planning objects, the implementation of which has become necessary would be in 2026-2027. The most important new design items are the changes to the main library's new half-reception customer service counter and the automatic sorting area behind it. Another design target is the children's and young people's sections of the main library. The main library's children's and young people's departments have been in active use since the new side of the main library was completed in 2007. The department's furniture is worn out and some of the furniture has had to be removed. In addition, in almost twenty years there have been wishes to renovate the department to better reflect current use. In connection with the acquisition of sorting and return automation for the main library, a small return and sorting machine has also been acquired for the children's department, which in part causes the need for the department for the relocation of operations. The procurement will be carried out as a direct procurement based on section 40, subsection 2, clause 2 of the Procurement Act (1397/2016), because the original architectural ensemble of the new part of the main library was designed by JKMM Arkkitehdit Oy and now the architectural services to be acquired are closely related to the further planning of the new part in question.
