- Vaasan Vesi operates as a municipal utility that provides its customers with water supply services, the most important of which are high-quality domestic water and its distribution, as well as wastewater drainage and cleaning. Vaasa's domestic water is produced at the Pilvilammen Water Works. Pilvilammen Vesilaitos is a surface water acttos, where domestic water is purified for use in the area.
A new ozonation and activated carbon plant is being built for the Pilvilammi Water Works. The goal is to acquire activated carbon suitable for the water plant's raw water quality and cleaning process.
The decision on purchase quantities depends on the need for water purification,and Vaasan Vesi does not commit to any specific volume. The initial amount of coal to be procured is approx. 400 m3, which will be divided between two different suppliers in 2025. The contract includes an option for the years 2026-2028. A more precise delivery schedule depends on the progress schedule of the construction work, this will be specifiedin the actual request for quotation and order.
The activated carbon to be procured must initially meet the following criteria:
•Suitable for use by the water plant in water purification
•Grain size 12x40 MESH
•Agglomerated
•Iodine number at least 950 mg/g
•Delivery clause DPU
•Delivery unloading with the customer's ejectora.
