• Description:
• The object of the acquisition are five (5) gas chromatography units (GC), which will be upgraded to existing Agilent Technologies mass spectrometer equipment (GC-MS systems). The existing mass spectrometers, their control software, several validated and accredited analysis methods, as well as spare equipment arrangements are based on the system set of the equipment manufacturer in question. Compatibility, system integration, preservation of analysis methods, backup equipment arrangements and continuity of operations to ensure, the GC units to be purchased must be compatible with the current mass spectrometers and software environment. The analysis methods used in the laboratory have been validated and widely accredited by the respective manufacturer for the GC-MS system assembly. Purchasing equipment from another manufacturer would require extensive revalidation, changes to software and hardware integrations, and operational risks. The implementation of another manufacturer's GC equipment would require in-house re-optimization, validation and renewal of the accreditation process of the developed methods. This would cause the risk of the comparability and quality of the analysis results decreasing, as well as parallel running on several different devices, which is not resource-friendly possible. In addition, the GC-MS systems in use in the laboratory form a backup device arrangement with each other, where analysis methods can be transferred from one device to another without method changes.
