- This is REQUEST FOR INFORMATION, which is preparing for procuring. We are looking for suppliers interested in participating in a dialogue about Helsinki Regional Transport Authority Bike-Sharing Procurement 2026. We are writing to acquaint you with the core principles and the initial phase of the forthcoming Bike-Sharing Procurement for the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, also known as Greater Helsinki. What is it about? The current contracts governing the City Bike Systems in Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa are due to expire at the end of 2025. Therefore, the procurement of the subsequent system, effective from 2026, has become relevant. Common state of will for the next system is to cover the whole Greater Helsinki region. However, it is still unclear, how many municipalities are taking part after more accurate principles are clear. There should also be possibility for the municipalities to join the system later. The process is coordinated by the Helsinki Regional Transport Authority, which is also responsible for most of the public transportation on the region. Cities in region differ on their area, population, and their population density as well as with their urban structure. Therefore, selected system should be flexible enough to fulfill diverse needs from different participators.
