Description:
The procurement concerns the realization of the Kuusankoski unified school in Kouvola as a KVR project. The plan is to build facilities for elementary and middle school students as well as students with special needs (EVT) in the unified school. The school will initially have about 500 students, of which 32 are EVT (VET) students of the student. The school will also build facilities for student care and the school has a staff of around 90 people. The procurement includes the design and construction work of the new building. In the procurement, a KVR contractor will be selected, who will act as the main contractor. The descriptions of the project attached to the procurement notice apply the documents are for reference and are specified in the final tender request. A ceiling price (EUR 16 million) has been set for the procurement, which the total contract price entered in the contract must not exceed. Procurement is divided into development and implementation phases. During the development phase, the customer, the KVR contractor and together, the designers define e.g. questions related to planning and the target and ceiling price. The development phase is concluded by the customer's decision to move to the implementation phase. The goal is that construction work will start in the summer of 2026 and school activities in the building can start either 2028 in January or 2028 in August (completion date will be confirmed in the final request for tenders). The procurement decision is made on the basis of a quality comparison.
