Oy Apotti Ab (hereafter Apotti) acquires from Kustannus Oy Duodecim the right to use the second generation version (so-called 2nd version) of the Decision support EBMEDS product in the customer and patient information system for use in its own computer room. In addition to the decision support product, the package includes a health benefit assessment solution and the delivery of related drug databases. The right of use covers Apot and Apot's customers who use the customer and patient information system service provided by Apot. The supplier's decision support product, EBMeDS, combines information describing the patient's condition with the electronic medical record stored information in medical information, such as articles in the doctor's manual, valid treatment recommendations, and reviews of screening tests. The decision support product is based on the extensive expertise of Kustannus Oy Duodecim, owned by the Finnish medical association Duodecim, and the trust of doctors to the acquired expertise. Decision support warns, reminds, suggests treatment and offers links to treatment recommendations. Reminders are also generated automatically from drug interaction, antibody and indication databases to be included in decision support. Decision support reduces in particular the need for consultation related to drug treatment and time-consuming individual searches in different databases about drug interactions and special problems of drug treatment.
