- The Food Agency is an agency under the administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, whose duties include promotion, control and research related to agriculture and forestry, foodstuffs, and animal and plant health.
The object of this procurement is the transport service of sample packages from different parts of the worldFinland to the offices of the Finnish Food Agency. The samples are related to the Food and Animal Diseases Control of the Food and Drug Administration and other statutory duties.
The shipments being transported are mainly different samples. The samples are mainly animal samples such as meat, blood and tissue samples and animal organsa and other parts, and also whole animals properly packed. Whole dead animals can be, for example, fetuses of farm animals, whole fish, birds, fur animals, piglets, pets, hares, bats and rodents.
Most shipments weigh less than 20 kg, butthere are also occasional individual transport needs for larger shipments, such as whole carcasses of calves, reindeer or wild boar. Some shipments may contain samples other than animal samples, such as seed, feed and plant samples. In connection with the transports, other things can also be taken care ofita Food Agency's goods transport needs. The service provider must be ready to transport packages weighing no more than 70 kg. Transporting shipments weighing more than 70 kg can be negotiated separately with the service provider, and readiness to transport them is not a prerequisite for tendering... - Documents:
