- The Nordic public broadcasting companies (DR, NRK, RÚV, SVT and Yle) and film institutes (DFI, IFC, NFI, SFI and SES) and Nordisk Film & TV Fond jointly apply for documentary series and documentary films in the development stage. We are looking for strong and compelling stories about current phenomena that resonate across national borders. The goal is to develop high-quality documentary content of interest to a wide audience, which is relevant to the whole of the Nordic region. We are looking for projects that implement one or more of the following:- Deals with current phenomena that have significance beyond the borders of the Nordic countries - The narrative is easily approachable: a clear point of view, a strong hook, interesting characters and a compelling story arc - An investigative approach, a revelation, a mystery or something else that catches the viewer's attention a captivating point of view- A unique opportunity to closely observe persons, institutions or environments- High quality and originality in narration, form and visual expression in a way suitable for a mainstream audience- Nordic cooperation: including expertise or perspectives from more than one Nordic country Experts from Yle and the Finnish Film Foundation are responsible for evaluating the applications. The selected projects are invited to present themselves at a separate pitching event in Malmö in September before Nordisk Panorama Forum event.
