- INVITATION TO MARKET DIALOGUE - TOURISM TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP Mikkeli's development company Miksei Oy invites transport and tourism services operators to participate in a market dialogue regarding future development partnership-based framework agreement for tourism transport services. The aim of the procurement is to develop and acquire tourist-oriented, flexible, high-quality and easy-to-buy transport solutions that support local tourism, which serve especially foreign tourists and tourist groups. Saimaa's tourism strategy 2021-2025 aims to raise the region to the top three most famous tourism regions in Finland, alongside Helsinki and Lapland. The strategy focuses on the common Lake Saimaa brand, sustainable nature and for lake tourism, culture and year-round development, utilizing digital technology and improving accessibility. For its part, the city of Mikkeli is committed to the tourism growth program 2025-2030 and aims to increase the city's immediate tourism income from 85 million euros to 120 million euros by the end of the decade. The focus of the program is increasing year-round, Saimaa's nature, history, food culture and camping. The goal is to create new investments, jobs and strengthens Järvi-Finland's position as a leading tourist destination.
