- The HUS corporation is requesting offers for the air transportation of organ transplant removal teams from experienced air transport operators who have the resources and ability to serve our fast-cycle operations in accordance with the requirements set out in the tender documents.
Transplantation and liver surgery clinic removalyhma:
The surgical teams of the hospital's Transplantation and Liver Surgery Clinic remove all the organs in the abdominal cavity that are suitable for organ transplants. There are five people in the multi-organ removal team: three surgeons, an instrument nurse and a coordinator. The kidney removal team includes two surgeons and a coordinatorri. In the last four years, the abdominal organ team has made 40-50 trips/year by air.
Heart and Lung Center's removal teams:
The Heart and Lung Center's surgery teams handle all heart and lung donor removal surgeries. There are 3-5 people in the group. Annually, 15-20 m are made by flyingatka, of which 5-10 outside the borders of Finland, mainly to the Nordic countries. Both groups carry the equipment needed for surgery with them. The departure for the organ removal trip often takes place during emergency hours and about two hours after the decision to remove the organs has been made.
Detachment of organsthe surgery at the donor hospital takes 3-6 hours and the return takes place on the same plane as the outward journey. For pilots, this means waiting time for these hours.
The total time on the organ removal trip is about 6-11 hours.
