The design area covers an area of about 32 ha and a more accurate location and map extract can be found in the appendix to the invitation to tender. The design work is targeted at the area under the control of Metsähallitus, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Ähtäri Zoo and the tourist area. The aim is to draw up a master plan for land use to guide and support the development of the area's tourism livelihoods, taking into account the nature of the area. The master plan should determine and evaluate the location of tourism -supporting accommodation construction in the area and the location of other structures and activities serving tourism and recreation.
