Description:
The subject of the procurement is the updating of the ETCS or European Train Control System access control system related to train access control for VR-Yhtyma Oyj's Sr3 locomotives. Sr3 locomotives include the ETCS access control system related to train access control, but the system needs to be updated to a new version Baseline 4 R1 SV2.2, so that it works in the future European access control system, to which the Finnish railway network will gradually move in the coming years. The transition to the new access control system is managed in Finland by a national project called Digirata. Upgradeable locomotives there are currently a total of 80 ordered on VR. VR has the option to order option locomotives, but no decision has been made to order option locomotives. The object of this acquisition includes the upgrade of the ETCS system to all Sr3 locomotives, including any options. Featured Editor is a group formed by Siemens Mobility GmbH and Siemens Mobility Oy, which is a supplier of locomotives. The value of the procurement in the section "Value of all procurement contracts concluded in this procedure" is the maximum possible value of the contract without indexing, i.e. the value including any options, even if the options are not exercised. The implementation of the ETCS equipment according to the agreement requires that the EU Commission still grants an exception permit for the Digirata project, a Finnish solution based on commercial radio networks to use.
