Description:
The city of Yloejaervi organizes the general idea competition for the center in cooperation with the Finnish Architects' Association SAFA in accordance with its competition rules. The competition seeks innovative and new solutions for the development of a vibrant and lively urban space. The results of the competition will be used in further planningas the basis of life and site plan changes. The competition opens on March 15, 2023.
The competition area is located in the heart of Yloejaervi, Leijapuisto, and along Kuruntie and Asemantie. The train stop on the main line and the light traffic connection crossing the line, as well as the planned tramway, are an important part of the whole. An updateThe total area of the blocks is about 5 ha, the scope of the review area is about 50 ha.
The competition proposal must support development projects in the center of Yloejaervi, increasing the number of residents and services along Kuruntie and Asemantie, and the new structuring of pedestrian connections. Solutions will become possibleensures the smooth use of public transport and reduces dependence on private cars.
