Description:
The goal of the Headquarters - Mikkeli tourism development project is to create new vitality, new year-round jobs and investments in the region by creating a new and sustainable city based on Mikkeli's own strengths - history and cultural heritage tourism business. The project improves the growth, internationalization, marketing and innovation capabilities of SMEs and promotes the capabilities of managing the region's tourism with knowledge. The project is implemented in cooperation by Mikkeli's development company Miksei and War and Peace Center Muisti. Headquarters - The Mikkeli tourism development project is a project co-financed by the EU and the Southern Savo County Confederation - Renewed and competent Finland 2021-2027, EU Regional and Structural Policy Program, Just Transition Fund - In the JTF Project, Mikkeli's tourism and leisure development platform "Päämaja" has been launched, where business and cooperation networks have been brought together, comprehensive tourism services have been productized, multi-channel marketing campaigns have been implemented and new technologies utilizing and promoted the sale of these services. In the project, special attention has been paid to strengthening management with knowledge, which supports and promotes R&D activities based on the needs of business life. As part of the strengthening of the knowledge-based management platform development requires more comprehensive information than the current one about the actual accommodation capacity of the city of Mikkeli and the actual volume of tourism.
